ENTERING A MEET Joe Flaherty's Dolphins Logo that represent Joe Flaherty's Dolphins swimming Team.

1.   Meet flyers are sent via email approximately one-to-two weeks prior to the date on which entries are due. Please check meet date, location, eligibility, rules and schedule.

2. The Meet Entry Form must be filled out and submitted to the office for each meet. You can download an entry form, or pick one up at the JFD table at Quince Orchard.

Please fill out the form as completely as possible. Please use the swimmer’s best official times when entering meets. (For swimmers aged nine and older, entering with a NT (no time) means that no place ribbon can be won, regardless of place!) Entering with a best official time ensures that the swimmer will swim with others of similar times, which usually produces a faster race for all.

Please keep a log sheet of best times. Swimmers should be familiar with their own times, as well as qualifying or individual goal times. If your swimmer is entering an event for the first time, ask a coach for assistance in estimating a seed time for that event.

There are four ways to submit entries to the office:

  1. E-mail the completed form to jfdmeets@aol.com – you will receive confirmation e-mail when your e-mail is received.
  2. Fax the form to 301 916-2952. Please call to ensure the fax came through.
  3. Give the form to coach Boris.
  4. Place the form in “meet entry box” at Quince Orchard.

3. All meet entries must be received by the office prior to the entry deadline shown on the meet flyer. We encourage you to submit entry forms as soon as possible – this is because Meet Managers reserve the right to close the meet before the deadline if the meet becomes oversubscribed. Occasionally, meets will allow swimmers to do a deck entry. Meet Managers charge $10 each for these entries.

4. JFD uses the official “Team Manager” software application to enter meets and to manage our team database. The office staff puts all entries into Team Manager and generates a meet entry report.

5.   The meet entry report will be posted on the board at Quince Orchard and sent to the team via e-mail.
