TRAINING METHODOLOGY 
JFD coaches undergo 30 hours of training about each station in the SwimAmerica program progression. This includes learning to identify each station, the skills required to master it, advancement goals and techniques that are used to bring about desired performance. There are 10 stages:
- Bubbles
- Floats and Glides
- Kicking
- Crawl Stroke
- Freestyle
- Backstroke
- Breaststroke and butterfly
- Turns
- Lifetime strokes
- Individual medley
In addition to “classroom” instruction, JFD coaches learn by spending time in the water or at the side of the pool, shadowing trained coaches and learning technique through observation.
